1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and in some cases to track behaviour across sites.

Similar technologies — such as local storage — work in a comparable way, and are covered by this policy too.

2. Cookies and storage this site uses

We keep this to a minimum. Here is everything this website sets:

NameSet byPurposeType
methodiqal-theme Methodiqal Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, so the site looks the same on your next visit Local storage — strictly necessary for a preference you set

The theme preference never leaves your browser. We cannot read it, and it contains nothing that identifies you — only the word “light” or “dark”.

That really is the whole list. This website sets no third-party cookies at all, and nothing here tracks you, identifies you, or follows you to any other site.

3. What we don't do

We think it is worth being explicit about this:

4. How we stop spam

Our enquiry form is protected by a hidden field that automated bots tend to fill in and people never see. If it is completed, we treat the submission as spam. This method sets no cookies, collects nothing about your device, and involves no third party.

We deliberately do not use Google reCAPTCHA or any similar service on this website.

5. Files loaded from elsewhere

Our typefaces are served from methodiqal.co.uk itself. We do not use Google Fonts, so Google does not see your IP address when you visit us.

One exception, and we would rather be straight about it: the preview images on our homepage and sample builds page are hosted by Unsplash. Loading them means Unsplash's servers can see your IP address and browser type, in the same way any website you visit can. They set no cookie through us, and we receive nothing back about you. Their privacy policy explains what they do with server logs.

6. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete existing ones, or be warned before one is set:

Blocking cookies will not stop you browsing this site or submitting the enquiry form. The only thing you will lose is your saved light or dark mode preference.

7. Changes

If we add or remove anything that sets a cookie, we will update this page and change the date at the top.

8. Contact
